About

artistic exploration

Debra Beck Lennox paints in watercolor, oil, acrylic and is currently a printmaker. Her watercolors celebrate the light and texture of her favorite places while the paint flows freely and expressively. Her acrylics and oils feature vivid colors and strong composition that tell a visual story. Playing with many techniques express different feelings, depending on her mood.

Reflecting on her work, Debra says, “Printmaking helps me really see the world around me. Simplifying the natural world to definite shapes and creating multiple layers that come together upside down and backwards pushes me into the intuitive part of my creativity that I crave. Painting in my studio has always been my happy place until I discovered printmaking. Now I can move back and forth between color and black and white, experimenting with new techniques and seeing familiar subjects with new eyes as I grow as an artist.”

Locally, Debra is involved in the art community on the Mendocino Coast in a number of ways. She is currently the Board President of the Mendocino Art Center. She also collaborates with the Artist Co-op of Mendocino and Mendocino Eco-Artists — visit those sites to learn more.

Debra loves exploring many artistic interests from oceanside tidepools to life under the redwood trees. She is also an architect and enjoys the unique architecture of Mendocino.
